Southside Sausage & Pepper Heroes


  • 4 Southside Original Smoked Sausages
  • 4 Sub Rolls
  • ¼ cup Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Bacon, sliced
  • 1 Red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 Green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 Red onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Southside Oak Smoked Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Chives, chopped

Grilling Directions:

  • Set up your grill for indirect cooking
  • Warm skillet & cook bacon until fat starts to render and then add peppers, onion, Worcestershire sauce and Southside Oak Smoked Black Pepper
  • Once peppers start to soften, move them to the indirect side of the grill
  • Grill Southside Original Beef Sausages direct at 350 for 6 minutes
  • While sausages are grilling, prepare buns with butter & herbs
  • Once sausages are finished cooking (internal temp of 165), assemble the buns with sausage, peppers and cheese and then return to the indirect side of the grill for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted
