What Are Pork Steaks?
Our Pork Steaks have long been a local legend. They are so well-liked, there are other BBQ joints who offer them today strictly based on the popularity and reputation of Southside’s own top quality Pork Steaks. This passion for pork steaks is very specific to the Central Texas region.
Pork steaks are a delicious cut of pork that comes from the shoulder, also known as the Boston butt. This cut is well-marbled, making it tender and juicy when cooked. Whether you're grilling, smoking, baking, or frying, pork steaks are incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
Cooking Methods and Recipes for Pork Steaks
There are numerous ways to cook pork steaks, and each method brings out unique flavors and textures:
-
Grilling: Perfect for a summer BBQ, grilling pork steaks brings out a smoky flavor. Try marinating them in a tangy BBQ sauce or a` dry rub for extra flavor.
-
Smoking: Slow-smoked pork steaks absorb rich, smoky flavors. Pair with a side of coleslaw and cornbread for a classic Southern meal.
-
Baking: For a simple and easy method, bake your pork steaks with a savory marinade. This method is perfect for busy weeknights.
-
Frying: For a crispy and indulgent treat, pan-fry your pork steaks and serve with a side of mashed potatoes.
